What’s new in MANUS Core 3.1.0

We are pleased to announce the release of MANUS Core 3.1.0. This update introduces new functionality, major improvements to accuracy and workflow, as well as several important bug fixes. Here’s what’s new:

New Features

  • Hand size adjustment for Metagloves Pro Added the ability to fine-tune hand size directly within MANUS Core, providing greater personalization and more accurate tracking.

  • Sensor fusion with external tracking systems Introduced sensor fusion functionality to combine glove data with external tracking sources for improved accuracy and stability.

  • Improved glove data frame time consistency Optimized glove data streaming for more consistent frame timing and reduced jitter.

  • Support for real-time OptiTrack rigid body data Added support for receiving and processing real-time OptiTrack rigid body data within MANUS Core.

  • Linux support for MANUS OpenXR API Layer Expanded OpenXR API Layer support to Linux, improving cross-platform compatibility.

  • Real-time file monitoring for automated exporting Added functionality to automatically trigger data export when changes are detected, streamlining automated workflows.

  • Improved Metagloves Pro hand solver Enhanced the hand solver for Metagloves Pro to provide more natural articulation and improved tracking reliability.

  • “What’s New” information in MANUS Core Dashboard Added a “What’s New” section to the MANUS Core Dashboard so that update highlights can be viewed directly in the software.

  • Added haptics command to MANUS ROS2 package The MANUS ROS2 package now includes support for haptic feedback commands for gloves that support haptics.

  • Unreal Engine 5.6 support The MANUS Unreal Plugin has been updated to support Unreal Engine 5.6, dropping support for Unreal Engine 5.3.

  • Unity Plugin updates

    • Added support for Unity’s “VR Project Template.”
    • Added support for Metaglove Pro sensor data.
    • Removed the custom multiplayer feature set. Please use an alternative networking package instead.

Bug Fixes

  • ROS2 package – Fixed an issue where index finger stretch values were missing when publishing glove data.
