VRED

VRED version

Hand tracking is supported in VRED version 2023.4 and later.

Enabling Hand Tracking in VRED

To enable hand tracking in VRED, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Edit -> Preferences.

    Preferences

  2. In the Preferences window, scroll down to the Virtual Reality section on the left side.

  3. Enable the Use Tracked Hands in VR option in the Interaction section.

    Enable Tracked Hands

  4. Go to View -> Display and set the display mode to OpenXR HMD.

    Set Display Mode

  5. Make sure the HMD (Head-Mounted Display) is active.

If you cannot see your hands, put on the HMD. VRED will only start streaming glove data when the HMD is active.

  6. You should now see your hands moving within VR.

Applying changes

Any changes made to the Virtual Reality preferences in VRED will only be applied when setting the display mode to OpenXR HMD again. If the display mode was already set to OpenXR HMD, click Standard Display and then OpenXR HMD again.
