License requirement

The functionality described requires a MANUS Bodypack or a MANUS license dongle with one of the following licenses: Core Xsens Core Xsens Pro DEMO, or a Feature license with the Xsens feature enabled.

Using wired glove devices in MVN

The purpose of this article is to guide you through setting up MANUS Core so that you can use usb wired MANUS gloves within MVN Animate.

  1. Open the MANUS Core Dashboard.
  2. Connect two gloves through usb to the computer or Bodypack and turn them on.

  3. Configure the gloves either using the popup.

  4. Or manually assign both gloves to a user.

  5. Go to Settings and in the Hardware section check Xsens wired glove workaround.

  6. In the Devices tab now note the Dongle - Virtual with a left and right glove.

  7. Expand the Dongle section and take note of the Dongle ID, this is the ID that will be used in MVN to configure the hands.

  8. Now open MVN and navigate to the Fingers tab in the Motion Capture Configuration.

  9. Select the noted Virtual dongle ID from earlier and select from the dropdown. When using a Manus Quantum bodypack please refer to the following article for specific setup instructions.

  10. You are now ready to start motion capture with fingers.
