Predefined MANUS Rigid Body Assets (3.1 only)

Included with the Motive 3.1 plugin are Motive files containing predefined rigid body assets for using the MANUS Rigid Body in Motive. There are two different types of assets available:

  1. MANUS Rigid Body: This asset uses markers directly on the MANUS Rigid Marker Set.
  2. MANUS Extended Rigid Body: This asset uses a spacer on the wrist out marker.

To use the predefined rigid body assets, follow these steps:

  1. Open Motive and go to File -> Open.
  2. Select one of the included files that matches the rigid body configuration you are using.
  3. In the Assets pane, you will see the left and right rigid body assets.
  4. These assets will be used to track the hand-only rigid body in Motive.

Alignment

You can use the camera reference mode to make sure the digital hands are properly aligned:

You can use the Gizmo tool to offset the hand position and rotation, to further tweak the digital hand alignment.

Exporting Asset Definitions

For hands only tracking, the rigid body alignment for the created hand skeleton can be exported in case the same asset definition needs to be used again:

For full-body skeletons, however, this alignment process will need to be repeated as the exported asset will no longer be reliable after the person takes off the suit or removes the markers.
