Devices

The Devices Panel, gives you an overview of all connected devices.

There are six types of devices:

Type	Description
Dongles	Glove dongles, used for wireless glove communication and license purposes.
Wireless gloves	Gloves connected wirelessly to a dongle
Wired gloves	Gloves connected over USB-C connection.
Networked Devices	Connected networked MANUS Core instances.
Unpaired gloves	Wireless glove devices currently in pairing mode.
Trackers	Absolute space trackers coming in through the supported tracking systems.

Note

Dongles and gloves don't necessarily need to be connected to this machine, and also show up when connected to a connected networked device.

Dongle

When selecting/opening a dongle from the devices panel its details will show up below it.

• Series: This indicates which glove series the dongle was made for.
• Connection Channel Indicates the wireless channel currently used. Allows manually refreshing and picking of ideal channels.
• Dongle ID: A unique identifier for each dongle, mostly used for reference and to communicate with the MANUS Support team when needed. To copy the ID number, simply click the copy icon next to it.
• Dongle Firmware: Showing the current version of the firmware installed on the glove. And the ability to update the firmware with the Update button when available.
• Licence: Current license loaded on this dongle. Determines availability of certain features. Here you can manually load a new license onto the dongle.
• Networked Device: Shows the networked device this dongle originates from. Will display local when not coming from an active networked device.

Glove

When selecting/opening a glove from the devices panel its details will show up below it.

• Glove ID: A unique identifier for each glove, mostly used for reference and to communicate with the MANUS Support team when needed. To copy the ID number, simply click the “copy” icon next to it.
• Firmware: Showing the current version of the firmware installed on the glove. And the ability to update the firmware with the “Update” button when available.
• Revision: This shows the hardware revision of the glove.
• Networked Device: Shows the networked device this glove originates from. Will display local when not coming from an active networked device.

Wireless vs Wired

Wireless gloves are gloves that are currently connected wirelessly to a dongle. If you want to update a glove, it needs to be connected by wire.

When using the gloves wired, they will appear in the Wired Gloves section of the devices tab. Wired gloves cannot be paired with a dongle. A connected dongle is still required for license purposes.

Calibration

This will start the calibration process for that individual glove. Please check your hardware's specific calibration article for step-by-step guidance. The calibration is stored in your user profile.

Pairing

Gloves that are currently in pairing mode will show up in the unpaired list. Here you are able to select the dongle you want the glove to pair to by clicking pair. A glove dongle is only able to pair to one left and one right glove at any given time.

Requirement

A requirement for gloves in pairing mode to show up is that a glove dongle of the same firmware version and series is connected.

A glove can be unpaired by clicking the Unpair button from its respective glove section.

Firmware updating

A yellow triangle will show up in the dongle and glove sections to signal that there is a firmware update available for your devices. Glove devices will need to be connected wired to the main instance of Core to update. Updating via networked device or wireless is currently not supported.

Networked Devices

MANUS Core instances running on the network can be connected to this instance of Core to aggregate devices to a single point. We call these networked devices and this view shows all connected networked devices, their host name and ip-address.

Trackers

The bottom section of the Devices panel will display all connected trackers with additional information per tracker;

• A reference color to visually identify the tracker in the scene view
• The type of tracker
• The tracker ID
