Wired Control & Remote Control

Introduction

The MANUS Quantum Bodypack can be controlled by physically connecting it to a display, mouse and keyboard, or remotely by connecting to it using 'remote desktop' software.

Wired Control

Physical Connection

You can control your Bodypack like a desktop computer, by connecting it to a display using the integrated HDMI port.

You can connect either a wireless mouse and keyboard using Bluetooth or connect a wired mouse and keyboard using the integrated USB ports.

Log into your Bodypack using your login information.

Remote Control

Windows Remote Desktop

The Bodypack runs Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC and comes with 'Remote Desktop' enabled.

To use 'Windows Remote Desktop' you will need Windows 10 Pro or Windows 11 Pro on the computer you use to remotely connect to the Bodypack.

Open Windows Start, search for "Remote Desktop" and open it:

Enter the hostname name of your Bodypack:

Open "Show Options" to expand the window:

Enter your user name and check "Allow me to save credentials":

Go to the "Display" tab and set your preferred resolution:

Go to the "Local Resources" tab and open the Remote Audio "Settings":

Select "Play on remote computer" and click "OK":

Go back to the "General" tab and "Save As..." your connection settings if you want to store or share them:

Click "Connect" to initiate the remote connection:

Enter your password, check "Remember me" and click "OK":

Check "Don't ask me again for connections to this computer" and click "Yes":

You are now remotely connected to your Bodypack:

Alternatives for Windows Remote Desktop

If you can not use Windows Remote Desktop to remotely control your Bodypack, there are various open source, free and paid alternatives.

Some alternatives:

  • VNC (UltraVNC, RealVNC, TightVNC)
  • Parsec
  • TeamViewer Remote
  • AnyDesk Remote Desktop
  • Google Remote Desktop
  • LogMeIn Rescue
  • GoToMyPC

Some of these applications can change your audio settings, which will change your timecode & sync settings in MANUS Core Dashboard. Configure these applications to not affect the audio settings on your Bodypack.
